featuring ayush sharma
Warp
Ayush Sharma built Warp, the AI-native employee management platform that runs payroll, tax compliance, benefits, and IT for fast-growing companies, trusted by AI-native startups like Serval, Greptile, Bland, Corgi, and Rillet. Every time a company hires in a new state, someone has to register with that state’s revenue department, open unemployment accounts, enroll in paid leave programs, and set up local taxes before the first paycheck. Miss a step and a penalty notice shows up weeks later. Warp Agent handles all of it automatically, from signed offer to first-day Slack account. Warp has grown 7x year over year, saved customers $200M+ in tax penalties, and is on track to process $2B+ in payroll this year. $60M Series B led by Battery Ventures, bringing total funding to $85M, with Sound Ventures, Peak XV, Sapphire Ventures, Homebrew, Y Combinator, and angels including Tobi Lütke, Drew Houston, Amjad Masad, and Elad Gil.
Hiring: Software Engineer (Product), Senior Software Engineer (Product), Applied AI Engineer, Design Engineer, Account Executive, Sr. Account Executive, Head of Finance, Head of Demand Generation, Product Marketing Manager, Socials Lead, and 12 more roles across sales, customer success, and growth, all in NYC. Details here.

featuring arix saxena and yiwen li
Aris Saxena and Yiwen Li built Solstice, the agentic marketing engine for biopharma, backed by Transformation Capital and trusted by Pfizer, AstraZeneca, AbbVie, and Sanofi. Getting a single pharma marketing asset through medical, legal, and regulatory review used to take months. Solstice's customers launch campaigns 12x faster, cutting review rounds from 3.2 to 1.2 per asset in a market where biopharma spends $100B+ a year on commercialization. $21M Series A led by Transformation Capital, with Twelve Below, Virtue, and the founders of Datavant, Commure, and Paradigm.
Hiring: MTS Fullstack, MTS Fullstack AI, MTS Applied AI, MTS Data Engineering, MTS QA (Agentic Systems), Senior MTS Applied AI, and Manager, Commercial Engagement. Details here.

featuring michal miernowski and alvin wu
Michal Miernowski (CEO) and Alvin Wu (CPO) built Amperos, an AI workforce that runs healthcare revenue cycle on autopilot, so providers get paid in full for the care they deliver. Billing is the quiet reason hospitals bleed money; Amperos makes it autonomous. $20.7M raised from Bessemer Venture Partners, Uncork Capital, and Neo. Want the deeper read? Next Play wrote a whole piece called "Should you join Amperos?"
Hiring: Engineering, product, GTM, and CS, nearly all in NYC. Engineering: AI Research Engineer, Software Engineer, Full Stack, Software Engineer, Infra, and Software Engineer, Integrations. Product: Product Manager and Product Designer. GTM: Enterprise Account Executive and SDR (remote). Ops & CS: AI Deployment Strategist, Client Engagement Manager, and Customer Success Manager. featuring cherie chung and brendan hellweg
Cherie Chung and Brendan Hellweg building Holly, the AI-native workforce operating system for the public sector, already used by 70+ agencies that collectively serve over 10% of Americans. Government software is famously where good tools go to die; Holly grew 100x in the past year anyway. $10M raised, and the team of 25+ is made up of former public servants, civic techies, and builders who want government workers to finally have the best tools.
Hiring: engineers and a chief of staff. Details here.

featuring rick huang
Rick Huang and Matt Ko founded Pascal to equip the physical, offline economy with foundational intelligence. Here's the problem in one image: somewhere right now, someone is logging into yet another data portal, downloading screenshots buried in PDFs and fax scans, and re-keying the details into a decade-old spreadsheet. Multiply that across a $2T US industry and the bottlenecks become cash left on the table, missed sales, and empty shelves. The foundational data layer that unlocks AI agents doesn't exist in the offline economy yet, so Matt and Rick are building it, starting with consumer packaged goods.
The team is math and science Olympiad competitors from MIT who went on to build at Nuro, Glean, Blackstone, and Marshall Wace, backed by premier Silicon Valley investors and executives from category-defining businesses like Decagon, Cognition, Kalshi, and Uber.
Hiring: Founding Engineer, NYC, in person, $150K to $250K base with significant early-stage equity. One of the first employees, shaping the culture from day one.

featuring logan brown
Logan Brown left a $900-an-hour seat at Cooley to build Soxton, the AI-powered legal platform for founders at their earliest stages, streamlining everything from incorporation to equity, fundraising, and compliance with automated workflows plus human-in-the-loop lawyer review when it matters most. The results founders actually feel: standard contracts papered for around $100 with 24-hour turnaround, priced rounds for a fraction of Big Law rates, and an average of $45K saved in legal fees in a customer's first month. Over 270 companies used it before it even publicly launched. A Harvard J.D. who interned at her local DA's office at twelve, Logan raised a $2.5M pre-seed led by Moxxie Ventures, with Strobe, Coalition, Flex, and Caterina Fake in the round, on a mission to become the default law firm for the next generation of entrepreneurs: faster, smarter, and more affordable than Big Law.

How to find the perfect role?
Most people search by scrolling job boards and applying to whatever looks exciting. The perfect role rarely shows up that way. By the time it’s posted, hundreds of people have already seen it. Here’s how to find it earlier, and how to know it when you see it.
1. Write your filter before you start looking.
“Somewhere exciting” isn’t a filter. Write one sentence covering stage, function, and what you want to learn. Something like: Series A to B, in person in NYC, a founder I’d learn from, and a role where I own a number. Every company has to pass it. It stops you from chasing whatever’s loudest on your feed, and it sharpens your outreach because you can tell a founder exactly why you picked them.
2. Follow the funding, not the job boards.
Headcount is usually the biggest line item in a post-raise plan, so a fresh round is one of the best signals that a hiring wave is coming. Track NYC raises every week (AlleyWatch is the easiest place to start), shortlist the ones that pass your filter, and reach out before the roles go up. The best seats often get filled through warm intros before anyone writes a job description.
3. Read the careers page like an investor.
Open roles tell you the plan. A wall of AE and SDR roles means they’ve found something that sells and are scaling it. A single founding engineer role means you’d be shaping the product from scratch. Then check the company’s LinkedIn people tab: how big is the team, and how long do people stay? If tenures are short across the board, ask about it.
4. Interview the founder back.
You’re choosing who you’ll learn from for the next few years. Ask: What does success look like in my first 90 days? What would make this hire a mistake? How much runway do you have, and what has to be true before the next raise? Then find one person who has worked with them before and ask what it’s actually like. Good founders respect these questions. If one dodges all of them, that’s your answer.
The perfect role usually isn’t posted yet. It’s sitting in a founder’s head, waiting for the right person to show up. Come meet the founders yourself at the next showcase.
